Seafood:
The harvests of the sea have sustained the islanders, and the island economy, for centuries. Today the 'traditional' fishing industry remains hugely important, and the farming of salmon and other species continues to develop and evolve.

Shetland's natural clean environment guarantees wholesome products bursting with flavour 'as clean as the rain on the heather'. The main agricultural export is sheep - the native Shetland breed is particularly sought after - but many other forms of produce are also reared or grown.
